I'd like to start compiling a list of software that supports Windows 7 specific features so we can start getting a better idea of what it's going to be like in the future. The software doesn't necessarily have to be good, just actually make use of something new.

I don't really know of anything except Office 2010, so I'll start with that.

1. Office 2010 - Jump Lists
2. TeraCopy - Progress Bar
3. Windows Live Messenger - Jump Lists
4. imgburn - Progress Bar
5. Safari - Tab Previews/Progress Bar
6. vmWare Beta - Tab Previews
7. Gmail Notifier Plus - Tab Previews

With developers being assured that their app that works on Windows Vista will still work on Windows 7, some might not even bother developing 7-specific features if they're incredibly lazy.

I'm just saying some developers; I'm sure lots will come on board and take advantage of features when Windows 7 is released in October.

Windows Live Messenger uses the jump list and the icon for the task bar item, Live Mail also does so, and Foobar uses the thumbnail toolbar of Windows 7.
But I guess that will change :)

I also know lots of device drivers that use the new device stage of Windows 7.

Safari 4 makes use of showing the tabs on the prevews, and using the status indicator on the taskbar. No jump lists yet, probably upcoming.

Apparently Office 2003 uses the Jumplist to show recent documents, believe it or not.

The VMWare beta that we saw get leaked a few weeks ago also does the each-tab-gets-a-preview-in-aero type implementation. It incorporates into the start menu's addon lists too, allowing you to open the VM of choice if you want right from the start menu. No jump lists yet...

that's a feature of windows 7. Every file which is being opened with an open dialog of an application will be shown in the recent documents of this application.

I like Gmail Notifier Plus which very nicely uses the preview tabs to check for new mail and to show excerpts.

There's probably something about it somewhere

QuiescentWonder: Safari also uses the progress bar in the taskbar as well. Don't forget that :D
