Just a thought, it seems a lot slower than Beta 1 did. Booting up takes a fair bit, but logging in, eugh! It loads up in drips and drabs. Nothing much in the background running, Wakoopa, WhatPulse etc all that loads.

Disabled unneeded services like firewall etc as well.

It could be me. I'm not sure :?

It must be you. On my end everything is running perfectly speedy and normal.

The build seems all around more responsive to me than 7000

Got to agree with the others I'm afraid. I've found 7100 to be if anything even more responsive than the previous builds were.

I have been using every x64 build of Windows 7; 6801, 6936, 7000, 7022, 7048, 7057, 7068, 7077, and 7100, and every build, it seem a little bit more stable and robust.

I have a similar list as Day2Die, And I noticed a strange slowdown when upgrading from 7048->7068. Like the OP, it is most noticeable on startup...

By upgrading do you actually mean upgrading or a clean install?

Very odd. It could be i'm using 64 bit instead of 32 bit now.

It just loads slower on startup, logging in isn't very responsive, and I don't have bucketloads on startup. I've reinstalled clean twice and still slow.

64 Bit should only be better unless crappy drivers where made for it.

Well I think the ISO i downloaded went corrupt again, I can't use some bits of Windows, and other things like volume buttons not working, constant explorer crashes, etc etc.

Ugh, now I got to try to download it again. Gah!

After you redownload it use another application than the default image burning utility in Windows 7, I found it does not work as well as other burning programs.

XP is nearly abandonware... if I ran sim earth and Spore on the same computer I would expect sim earth to use less resources...

I felt that with build 7000... but I am suspect to say anything. My machine sucks.

Just adding this, if your upgrading you might notice a slow down in the OS compared to a fresh install

Honestly, I agree with the OP that the Beta seems to have been better than the RC. I ran both virtually and the Beta was slightly better.

Pity I accidentally erased it. :(
