I've been planning on using a vista beta since october, I'm thinking of using beta 2, Is 5259 any good, and will XP or vista drivers work, what build should I use

Rhapsody, BeOS
5259 is a less stable version of the final release - there is little interesting in it.

Build 5456. This was my first Vista Build I've used as my main OS.

everything from 5259 to 5384 aren't usable. RC1 5600 by far is one of the best build.

Wrong again Happy Dude, 6001 is way more bester that 6000, a whole digit way more cooler.
Seriously though, 5112 has a mildly interesting UI, but they all suffer from the same slow file transfer problems, driver problems and whatnot Vista had pre-SP1.

So there is no real difference between 5308.17 and 5308.60 ? I believe both are leaked...

Oh wait...

Build 6000 = build 3000. 6000/3000=2 6000+2=6002

6002>6000 not just in numbers but in performance, driver compatibility, security, etc.

What changes does the RC1 have from the final version, I'm not to concerned about stability as it won't be installed on my main PC, but on a real PC rather then a Virtual PC
