It is true, Not all builds of Windows 7 has the Expiration date. And when Windows 7 beta Expires, What I would do is set my BIOS Clock and my Windows clock to when it was released, and it will infact work. just make sure to turn off the auto sync clock in your date and time settings, and you will be fine.

maybe DjRob meant that Windows+r doesn't work in 7077, but I hope it still there in Windows 7 RTM...

Yeah I wasn't sure if he meant winver didn't work or if winkey+r didn't work or whether he meant winver didn't display an expire date in 7077. I'm on x64 and it's all there/working.

There are 2 versions of it.

1:
Run --> Winver

2:
Explorer (computer) --> Help --> About Windows

The background if from Build 7000, and I have put it on 7077 because it's a nice background (I like the background from build 7000, I have them in shuffle background mode.

I just noticed this... Why does everyone's 7077 expire on March 2nd, when mine expires on March 1st? Does it add for timezones or something? I am GMT -5 and I noticed everyone else is off by 5 or 6 hours in Europe...

I think it's because you are in another time zone.

If you add mine up and you'res you can see that it expires right on 2 march 2010, at 0:00 (more or less the time, but you know what I mean if you can see it).

WinVer.exe always displays the expiration date, but if you want to access the 'About Windows' dialog from explorer, it won't work. Also, my Windows 7 expiration date is different than the one which is in the EULA. And not by hours, by months. Why's that?

What's the date given in the EULA? If it's earlier, is it not possible that they just forgot to update it?

It's actually 1 June in the EULA, and 2 March in the winver.exe.

I am noticing now that mine is a day earlier from most of the other posters, for build 7100
it is 3/1/2010 4:59 pm, I am in Mountain Standerd time zone.. that must have something to
do with it. My EULA also says June 1 too. Oh well I am just thankful to
have a validated/activated copy for almost a year, I really can't complain.

Yeah, mine is 2 March, beacuse I live in Central Europe (UTC+1/2), but it should be 2 June.

the winver march 2010 date is the beginning of the "shutdown every 2 hours" feature..

and if you resist to format your installation because of that, then it will continue to run until the given June 2010 date, but then it stops forever ( i.e. wont log you in or only in safemode )

It is likely that W7 rtm is coming to a store near you Nov/Dec 2009 - so it will be long available no matter if it is 2010 march or june when it begins to die.. you all will want the real thing by that time and not the RC. Those that want W7 in all its glory should now begin to save money.
