After feeling certain for some time about 6519 having a superbar, I finally found concrete evidence. This screenshot made it's way into one video at Mix09:

Quite a few gems in there. Will upload the whole collection once I've completed it :)

Still, yet to work out how to enable it in 6519

Nice find Hounsell, it's always interesting what Microsoft what up to at one point of time, otherwise 6519 wouldn't have the textures for the superbar

There was also an earlier build with the Superbar, '6471':

It's interesting to see how far back the Superbar extends to.

Excellent find Hounsell. Hopefully someone can figure out how to unlock it. I wonder if Rafael has seen this?

Here is a blue badge that works with build 6519: http://www.withinwindows.com/2008/12/09/blue-badge-rev-3-adds-registry-override-bits-aero-peek-enabled/ note: only revision 3

Anybody else see the number superimposed over the IE Logo on the superbar? It shows how many instances of that program are open. They NEED to bring that back!!

It doesn't work with Blue Badge. Tried that.

Rafael did take a look at 6519's explorer.exe some time ago, but there's no clue in there :/

Are you sure it's rev 3, all previous revision doesn't work. Well, I know for sure that it works on build 6780.

It does work on M3 builds. But the difference between M1 and M3 is huge.

I got all the screenshots from the Mix09 Windows 7 'Showoff':

I've also send Rafael an email like ~2 months ago with that i thought that 6519 had the superbar in it and if he could have a look at it and if it was possible to enable it.

Screenshot in the original post, take a close look at the grouped IE button on the taskbar.

You know, that number would be nice. Still Windows 7 is already feature complete.

Ah, I would DEFINITELY want this, I would stop using the "normal" view (vista and before style taskbar list).

Rafael seems not to be interested in older builds. I was part of the group that decided to get him to look at 6519's explorer.exe, but that drew a blank.

I've had a look round some of the files myself, but so far, I've drawn a blank.

Possibly the reason 'you' were unable to find it in the system files is because it really isn't there, if you have been reading the e7 blog you would have seen that they test early prototype designs using external (to the system) applets (like what they did for aero snaps). Its possible that the "superbar" in this build was in fact a taskbar replacement app that they were using to test the prototype.

Edit: anyway, I really like some of the concepts in this prototype, someone should probably consider submitting a few DCRs based on this build, they might get considered for inclusion if they are (really) small changes and a lot of people vote for them

If it is not were all of the others are (or any logical place for them to be) as it seems people have checked Luthian's post pretty much kills the idea of there being a superbar built into the build.

Actually the ones that are concepts does not have the build stamp but the screenshots does.
