http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Shim

–verb (used with object)
2. to fill out or bring to a level by inserting a shim or shims

Guessing it's to do with the second word on the list.

Shoulda kept reading that page man...
Quote:
shim
n. A small piece of data inserted in order to achieve a desired memory alignment or other addressing property. For example, the PDP-11 Unix linker, in split I&D (instructions and data) mode, inserts a two-byte shim at location 0 in data space so that no data object will have an address of 0 (and be confused with the C null pointer). See also loose bytes.

I did, I saw Error Reporting to report a incompatibility with a program with Windows 7 then a memory management programming error.

Then again, I only knew 2 meanings of the word "Shim" before this, a Wedge and a Tranny. :P
