Hello,
I want to know if it's possible to install Windows 7 from an USB key ? Because my friend haven't any blank dvd but he have a 4GB key.

Yes, but like with installation of XP or Vista, you have to change the .iso image to get the key booted. BUT unlike XP or Vista, you don't know how to do so, unless they did some changes and enabled booting from a USB key by default.

Another Yes,

I copied the files off the DVD I burned of the .ISO, c/p to drive & they worked fine using a memory stick/flash drive to install 7.

You can install Windows from your hard drive, just extract the files from your Windows installation ISO and run setup.exe.
