I've tried to install this build on my real machine. After copying setup files, before the bootscreen, my machine reboots (VMWare works fine). Who knows, why this happens?

I guess the obvious would be to ask if the date is set properly. There might be logs you can check too that are on the HDD.

There may be some hardware on there it doesn't like and is getting it caught in an infinite reset loop.

practically all previous builds (instead of 4028 & 4011) were installed correctly

usually setup leaves some sort of log in the HDD, I'm unsure of the names and location but if you can get in there to read all the log files that'd probably be a start or changing the boot.ini to disable things such as NX, allow only one processor, no RAM over 4GB, do not restart after reboot, etc.

I think that would be the best place to start. I personally haven't tried to install 4066 yet so I can't really answer if this happens for me as well. But good luck to you.

You could try removing some RAM from your machine, but if you do, be careful

Unsure, but if it's occuring around the configuring of devices you made need a driver disk. What file is it asking for and if it's multiple files log them down.

You should of told us what the log details said. Usually the last few lines are the most helpful.

I'd say give it an hour to boot up and try toggling the numlock key, if the light stays the same and won't toggle it probably locked up.

Make sure HW acceleration is on full & enable all those DirectX/3D crap in dxdiag.

what do you have your BIOS set to? i set mine to Feb/14/2004, and the only issues i had was getting the Jade theme working, it crashed on me the first time i tried and left it at that...i'll use Slate for the time being until i can find a fix, i made a post on my lil site about the lack of issues i had....
