Is the ISO of Windows Longhorn build 4039 the pre-patched ISO or the original? And with the pre-patched ISO, I can install it without running the setup in build 4033 right?

Before the server was re-organized we had both...
Wonder where the patched ISO went?

ADD: Not to worry, I found the patch:

The original 4039 ISO has issues installing, a patch needs to be applied to prevent them.

I confirmed it, it is not the original ISO, because it installed without any problems. But after the install and when I try to login, it sends me back to the login screen. So I restarted the virtual machine, and guess what? It froze in the BIOS, even if you try to boot it to safe mode...

I've had that exact problem with this build, 4033, 4051, and 4053!

Check BIOS date of your VM.
It must be set according to this topic: http://www.betaarchive.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=604
And what about your VM software ? What porgram you use ?
