Hi,

If you are as unlucky as me, to have a computer (my evo) that dosent support Aero, a good sollution is transbar from AKSoftware.

http://www.home.no/aksoftware/

its not as perfect as the "real" stuff, but for a graphic card without shader, its "ok"

If you know how to program, here is some c-like psuedocode to do it. There isn't much to it.

Code:
HWND TaskbarhWnd = FindWindow("Shell_TrayWnd", "");
LONG TaskbarWindowStyle = GetWindowLong(TaskbarhWnd, GWL_EXSTYLE);
BYTE TaskbarOpacity = 50;

SetWindowLong(TaskbarhWnd, GWL_EXSTYLE, TaskbarWindowStyle | WS_EX_LAYERED);

SetLayeredWindowAttributes(TaskbarhWnd, 0, (BYTE)((TaskbarOpacity / 100) * 255), LWA_ALPHA);

Assign the "TaskbarOpacity" any value from 1 to 100 (percentage of opacity, where 0 is completely invisible and 100 is completely opaque). Enjoy.
