Many of you (I think) think that this login screen is from a build never leaked or an addon to Longhorn not leaked.
Take a look at this:
Image
(it's a 1920x1200 image)

How can you explain the 2 cursors? I think it's a MICROSOFT fake.

Note: I have never seen before this cursor that moves and selects user in official MS product.

Aside from that, the second cursor... the one that looks like the cursor from Vista... yeah, that's the cursor from Vista on the computer that has Youtube open with that video.

I don't think so, the cursors too small, and if he took the screenie the traditional way, It wouldn't show the cursor.
What makes me chuckle is that he needs a mystery cursor to realise what is written in the description of the video...

Thinkings?
Go back to that page and read the description of the video.
Do you know what the word concept means?

I reckon, despite the fact that image was only from the concept, it is actually true that it comes from an unleaked build.

It's more likely from a Director demo, at those early stages almost everything they did as far as demoing features and usability testing goes was done that way. Saw a talk by Hilell a while back where he showed off some Aero features and he mentioned their extensive use of Director and similar apps.

Really, what makes you think that?
When do you supose they made this wondeful, magical OS?

Entirely true.
Even a number of the things demonstrated at PDC03 were Director Demos.

no it is not from an build. that thing is, as well as the "build" shown @ hillel a macromedia director demo.

Yes, but aren't there ANY builds of Longhorn at all that have the effect where when you select a user account to logon, the user picture spins? BTW, I think it would be awesome if that functionality existed in Vista, or a feature planned for Windows 7!

why? its just design, so you would buy a totally unstable os only because it looks good? 8)

Why would an animated login screen make the OS unstable? By the time Microsoft have RTM'ed 7, it will have most of the major bugs fixed, and SP1 will probably fix more.

I thought something and told the others about it. Isn't that thinkings?

I have a feeling that 7 will be as crap as Vista. From the moment it is based on Vista, it is already screwed up.

I wouldn't expect much from Seven. I'm already sick of Ribbon everywhere idea.
And i would be supprised to see something from Longhorn's early days, when Microsoft drops a concept they don't go back to it...

Oh, and even MS claimed somewhere that Seven isn't a big change...

If they don't stop making shitty updates to Vista, it is going to be more crapper. I think they sould start a new kernel FROM SCRATCH and make the Windows 8.
But there is a controversy I REALLY don't like: Will be Windows the Next Kernel? I mean, will be Microsoft Windows or another OS, like Microsoft Midori I read somewhere?

20:31 [@zimmy] i'm pushing for freenode
20:31 [@zimmy] to rename ircd-seven to hyperion 2
20:31 [@zimmy] as seven seems to be related to crapware (see microsoft)

ENOUGH!
Geez, were do I start.
Squidward, this is a concept video, not some wonderful OS you believe is unleaked, we know all the builds Microsoft created, and at no stage did they have the time to create a wonderful OS, but never release it. Another thing, why would they create somthing like this, and not release it, they are a buisness trying to make money. This is a concept video, and nothing more!
Hacker?pcs, at no stage did this video claim to be an unleaked OS, it clearly states in the description that it is a concept video.
And also, Midori is a research project conducted by Microsoft, at this point in time is not intended for commercial use, and most likley never will be. And they will not start a new kernal from scratch, because that would destroy backwards compatability, and give people like you more to bitch about.
7 is not intended to be a big change, Vista was the big change, and the only problem with Vista is that people deemed it crap before they'd tried it, or given it a chance.
How many of the people here bitching about Vista actually use it as their main OS?

jabster you're right about Midori, it's a cloud computing OS, not a standard one.
I never said it was a never released build, take a look again at my first post ;)

About the kernel from scratch, if the kernel is good programmed, it can be compatible with everything.

Where the hell did you get that idea from? Midori's just really an extension to the Singularity project from my understanding, to see if Singularity can become more of a usable OS.

But you are also right, it IS a Singularity extension...

Don't trust that myself. I haven't seen anything else which suggests that, and it's clearly not a forum pre-occupied with Windows..

I wouldn't be too suprised if Microsoft decided to add all the fancy fairy magic stuff from all the Longhorn builds to 7. I have noticed that Microsoft have implemented something very similar to WinFS in 7. If you look at the pictures of Explorer in the leaked screenshots, look at the left-hand column and it looks very similar to WinFS.

PS: I don't mind if this topic gets locked after this, I am just saying.
