Is there any way to put windows home server onto vmware? it continuously gives an error message about it being the wrong type of hard drive.

VMware configures a SCSI HD by default IIRC. Change that to an ATA drive with at least 80 GB and it ought to work.

IDE is the same as ATA. Choose IDE.
