I am creating my own version of xp, and i was wondering how would i go about ADDING a time bomb into the installation.
You need to load the setupreg.hiv into either regedt32 on a NT4/2000 machine, or into regedit
on an XP machine & edit a string to add the timebomb, then unload the hive & you're done...
If you tell me what build you're doing it to{Sp0/1/2 or 3}, I'll send you the file timebombed...
Take me all of 30 seconds to do...
KenOath: Yet again your genious astounds me! I knew about this routine to remove the timebomb from <ommitted>, but never thought of using it to add a timebomb; well done on that.
well, there are lots of reason, why i did it was screenshots once, i needed realistic looking screenshots of neptune, i had no untouched one so i just added the timebomb, so theres a build tag on the desk and timebomb in winver, otherways, the desktop would have no tag
You are correct on saying that TweakNT will not add a timebomb to the installer. alisdair, google it.
1. grow up.
why are all (i say that very loosely) the people here just like you and very childish?
just because your on beta archive does not mean you are the windows ELITE.
jeesh.
2. it is perfectly possible to by using a script execute tweaknt on first run in the background (invisible) add the timebomb and then restart
this is the only way i can see that this is possible, alls that it will take is a little research
3. looks like the ever knowledgeable ken0ath has sorted you
