What can I say? I have no reason to believe them - where are the screenshots? I want screenshots and leaked builds, or it didn't happen :D.

Does anyone else know about this?

Don't kill me if it's wrong but seeing the first version of NT was Windows NT Advanced Server 3.1 this might have been an alpha of it. Just a wild guess.

edit: Seems I was right. The Wikipedia article on NT 3.1 and this confirm it:

In 1991, at the Microsoft Windows Developers Conference, Microsoft demonstrated Windows Advanced Server for LAN Manager, a high-end operating system that would later be renamed Windows NT.

I'd love to see an alpha of NT 3.0, personally. I searched and scoured, and it looks like even Microsoft has documents related to Windows Advanced Server for LAN Manager in their search database. Nothing useful, though.

There was a NT beta on the PDC 1993 disc set... it was build 297... I wonder if anyone here has a copy of these discs...

Who knows: attention's on Chicago at the moment, and was on Windows 7 for a while ago, and Windows 1.00 before that. If we have someone Inside, and there is a build, well end up with it in our archive soon enough, I imagine :D.

I'm not sure about that ... Microsoft definitely don't keep every beta build of their products. The best bet is to try and find an employee who was around at that time, and hope he/she kept a few builds.
