this is not news. It uses Windows Vista Ultimate keys, anyone can do this. also, using the slmgr script is pointless anyway when you can just enter your vista ultimate key in the installation..

Oh well. I didn`t know because i`m not going to install it anyway. I did the whole install reinstall reinstall with longhorn all those years back so this time round i`ll just wait for beta and rc`s.

As anyone can see... Win7 warns the user about this activation method... it also provides the details... It says: Windows Vista Ultimate Retail!

which means you can activate Win7 using Vista key...

not a big suprise...

I'll bet that SLP works too, anyone care to try? I would if I had a computer that I was willing to reload right now.

No "cracks" are going to work on that copy unless you put your bios clock back. As you can see in the link - it has already expired.

Lol. sorry for that but : noob. The activation has nothing to do with the timebomb..... so you can still activate it. even if the timebomb expired..

setting the bios clock back to 12/07 works and helps with install, but I had to set my clock to march 08 to get the updates to work (and there are 40 of them from M1)
