Hi
i thought about making Windows Longhron Build 4051 as MainOS for my PC.
But have doubt about going in the internet with this build - you know legal things etc. Maybe someone in this forum can enlighten me ;)

A simple hardware firewall (such as one found in almost all modern routers) pretty much covers things as long as you aren't stupid and download all sorts of risky material.

As long as you have NAT enabled, uPnP disabled, you use Firefox or another more secure browser than IE and you don't go on websites you don't trust, you'll be fine ;)

I haven't used a firewall or anti-virus on my PC in years and I've been fine.

Microsoft have failed in every single one of their anti-piracy attempts. As long as you have cracked the activation, disable Windows Updates and don't attempt to use WGA, Microsoft won't even have any information that you are using an Alpha.

MS would be very unlikely to find out and even if they did they wouldn't care enough to get the police involved to trace your IP address to take you to court for using some ancient beta - they wouldn't even know whether you were someone that had it legally from an MSDN subscription anyway.

Avast 4.x home( free) is a good try, it runs on pretty much anything from 98 /NT4 on and is no ram-eater plus has a very good realtime detection engine :)
