Hi all, today I upgraded a VM i had from XP to Longhorn.

I noticed if you had XP SP2+Guest Additions before you upgrade, the sidebar will be completely non-functional. Windows explorer is also bugged out to some extent. I believe it is due to the service pack I had installed, as that came out ~2 years after the build was compiled. (Interestingly, the Security Center seemed to work.)

Does this happen in any other builds of Longhorn?

Typically, if you had .net 2.0 and above installed prior to upgrading to longhorn, the "pretty" components get broken. They just won't work if newer .net is installed.
Even if you didn't upgrade or perform a clean install. Installing those newer .net components break the features.
