Yeah, most Windows Longhorn builds don't support SATA, so that's likely why you're getting that problem. So like the others said, just set it to IDE, simple.

This is not a 7B error known from WinXP due to the lack of a SATA driver. I have a >> 7E << error

The error appears in both AHCI and Compatibility modes.

I remember I installed 4074 with WORKING audio on a real machine, and still have its parts to this day:

CPU: Pentium 4 2.80GHz S478
MB: Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-G
RAM: 4x512MB DDR400
GPU: Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB (though I might replace it with a Hercules 9700)
HDD: 80GB WD800JB-00LSA0
NIC: RTL8139D (board doesn't have onboard NIC)
ODD: NEC DVD-RW

It ran fine, no issues whatsoever. I tried both vanilla 4074 and the Reloaded version.
