Windows Server 2008 RTM has reached the internet. Changes in this build include updated graphics, a longer grace period before activation, and more. The build identifies itself as 6001.18000.080118-1840 and Service Pack 1.

Can we be sure that this is the final build? I haven't seen anything saying that it has gone gold yet. What is the full build number? Interesting too that it should say Service Pack 1, perhaps they want to synchronise the Vista and Server 2008 SPs and SP2 will be one big update for both OSes? 60 days is a long time to activate, perhaps they have made it that long so they can give out trial versions with no product key included (ie the trial is the activation grace period, and then you can buy it without having to reinstall like with Server 2003).

Weird - Version 6.0 (Build 6001...) - weren't all previous builds of Windows Server 2008 marked as Version 6.1 Build 6001.xxxxx?

edit: I'm wrong. I must have been thinking of Windows 7 or something.

Windows Server 2008 is 6.0 now and a year ago.
Youre think XP/Server 2003 which did get different versions, but Windows Server 2008 continue developing as a service pack.
Windows XP/Server 2003 x64 RTM'd as SP1 too. Not version 5.3.

Install took 14 minutes to hit the desktop, no problems at all doing a keyless installation.

Installed my display driver (used the .exe) & NIC w/o any problems either.

It can be real, because here on march 6, when you go to the microsoft technet day here in the netherlands (too expensive for me, last time it was free now its €99), you will get:
* Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise
* Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
* Microsoft SQL Server 2008

All full products and all FREE (including keys).
I will try to get one from the teachers, they are going (at least the ISO of server 2008, i hope, to dubble check it).

I hope its real, remember Vista whent RTM at 6 november 2006 and came out at 31 january 2007.
So maybe it can be that Server 2008 is RTM is the same as Vista RTM and releas date.

I think they remove fakes or torrents with no seeds/leechers left for so long. It would make sense...

The torrent was made about 23.00 at 2-2-2008.
And there were more then 70 seeders and 30 leechers.
I had downloaded the torrent this morning and it went offline at 3pm (just 5 hours later). But there are still seeders (and leechers)

I was lucky that i had it, i am uploading it tomorrow and theusday.
Andy, i have send you the screenshots.
