Hey folks,
as I´m just equipped with Win2k here, I don´t have any XP SP-CD at hand. However I´m interested, what would happen, if you try to install a SP on Longhorn. Will it just give you an error message, about a wrong Operating System? If so, can you bypass that somehow and then get it to work?

I ask, because I really think to use 3683 or 3718 on my PIII 866 laptop, that I´ll mainly use for writing stuff. On the other side I´m not too interested in people hacking into it, once I´m online. Or is it absolutely no problem, if I just access the internet via a (WLAN-)network? Assuming I don´t visit penis-enlargement-sites.
I´m sorry, but I´m absolute newbie regarding networks.

Best regards
Jens

you can't install a Win2000, XP or 2003 Sp on Longhorn 8-)

The installer will give you an error message about a wrong Operating System. Don't try to replace the files inside with the ones from the Sp or you will kill your Longhorn.
