I heard about Longhorn Reloaded, but what is this "R3" thing? It's a continuation or a fork of Reloaded?

to anyone wondering this project is not related to Longhorn Reloaded in ANY WAY AT ALL!!! (except for the 4074 bit :P )

Post subject:

So it is similar to "Longhorn Reloaded".

yeah.
up to now we have made some styles, winfs working, net framework 3.0
and we are now making applications and simple games and drivers for 4074...

They have it working, along with DirectX 10.
They are currently preparing a preview video showing all this off, so more of your questions will be answered then.

BTW, i just got hold of the Aero Standard theme, and its perfection....

Looks cool. I dont think i could make it better. Just got those questions:
1. Why are you using old version of WMP in Longhorn, i thought that 11 will be there...
2. Why isn't PPA enabled?

They havent got round to getting WMP11 to work, but it is in their plans.

i mean by looking at it allready the support is amazing and you have managed to do awsome things i could run this as my primary operating system! (which i wont maybe on a partition)
cool project guys keep up the good work :D

The beta will be public and available as a patch rather than an ISO, so it doesn't attract unwanted attention.

Post subject:

Ok... great!

And do you have any idea about the patch's size?

Anyway, good job!

I'm not sure about the final, but i think the initial beta one will be around 30Mb, as many of the new apps may not be included.
The final could be anything upto 100Mb as it will include plenty of new apps and themes. This is quite a way off though.

Hey!

I just thought about something... What about the framework 2.0 final?
Because when I tried to install it under Longhorn Reloaded R2 the installation crashed... So, bye bye Visual Studio 2005!

BTW, maybe WMP11 needs DotNet 2.0 (I'm not sure at all but it could be something we can try...). If yes, maybe you'll be able to "install" or "port" WMP11 in this great OS!
