I have tried build 4074 and 4053 but it seams bit unstable some times also on 4074 i'm having a problem with task bar which is common in this version as far as i know.I want your opinions about most stable build.

I'd say 3683 because that's the closest build from XP that has been leaked so far, and it doesn't have a big memory leak in any of it's applications....the further Longhorn went, the more apps and files were changed and therefore the more crap that Microsoft had to try fixing. So this is nowhere near my favorite, but it's definatley gotta be the most stable....some may argue that 3718 is more stable, but whatever.

But 3683 doesn't any good features like winFS.I beleive it should be stable ,but more likely later build of 3718 is more stable.

The fun fact is that none of them are really that stable!

Try 4083 if you support it...

I'd go with with 3718...

It doesn't have a memory leak, and when i tested it, it ran fairly stable.

[Not perfectly stable tho ^^, so maybe 3683 might be better...]

3718 would be the best - runs stable and has DCE effects :P
You just have to install display driver manualy...

@fifi: I second that :) I have tried it and it is the most stable one

Build 3718, though there is very little difference between the 3xxx builds.

I would think 4008. I used it for a month in 2004 on an IBM P1-233, 160mb ram, and a 4gb HD, it ran OK.

4008 Is stable but has the memory leak, though it has it's strange cure of opening a My Computer window and minimizing it :?

It could be a joke by MS, minimizing the bug

I would say 3718 would be the best.

If there was, i'd vote 5048, i think its stable, and has good dce, also the 3xxx builds tend to be stable.

That is more on Vista side.Because longhorn project was restarted and the last build was 4093

The amusing part of this little poll is the people who voted 4051, 4074, and 4093 as being the most stable out of all the Longhorn builds...yet there are no comments in the thread regarding this. :P

I know that the 40xx can be made more stable, but that's after the fact...I wanna see why some people think these builds are more stable out-of-the-box vs. the 3xxx builds. Let's hear it kids :P

Thats obvious that more far development went the more stable build was made.

One could argue, that the builds got more instable, the more changes were made... I'm especially talkin of the early 40xx builds here... Earlier builds which were closer @ the .NET server core were more stable coz they didn't really had many things changed

That's true. All 40xx Builds had the huge memory leak, making them instantly unstable.

I got Longhorn "Reloaded"... the setup procedure is TOO slow... 2 hours to install it! And after installation, the first time it boots: BSOD! Damn... 2h to install and it crashes... black screen and nothing happens! But when I've tried to install it on Virtual PC 2007, it works better! But virtual pc does not recognize the hardware... so I had a 4-bit video card... and the desktop was horrible!
And I have another version of LHR, I don't know which build... but when I try to boot from CD, it shows a "NTLDR" problem in the boot-loader... I've tried to replace it from XP... but it doesn't work :(:(

A) Longhorn Reloaded was a poor attempt at a customised Longhorn, being more buggy than the original.
B) To fix the Graphics in Virtual PC, install the Virtual Machine Additions from the File Menu.
C) Presumably you mean a Longhorn Build. If that is, get them from the server on here if you get access, because that's an ISO problem, All ISOs we have work properly.

I have sent a request to access on private zone... I'm waiting for a response!
Anyway, I tried to download vmware, but if you don't have a good internet connection, you can't download it, 'cause the download-link is operative for a bit time! :?
