Nice ... did you get those via the customer preview program or via the tech beta program?

Don't hold your breath, Microsoft India is a waste of Internet bandwidth...
I've emailed various contact links off it's sight in the past, only to have
every single email returned with an error from my postmaster stating that
the address is null & void, the place is an utter wasted existance...

I thought of downloading these when they sent me the link with the Key,
then I thought - stuff-em, my bandwidth is capped to a snails pace after I
hit 10gig in a month so I chose to buy it instead, If you like, when they
turn up I'll scan the DVD cover so you can print it yourself if you like...
Following is a list of the items in your order:

Part Number: 66C-00068
Product Name: Windows Vista 32-bit/x64 English Direct DVD RC1 CPP
Qty: 1
Unit Price: 0.00
Item Total: 0.00

Subtotal: 0.00
Shipping and Handling: 12.00
GST: 1.20
Total: 13.20
If I had a choice of downloading for free or owning the originals cheap,
I'd choose to own the originals everytime, guess i'm a sucker when it
comes to beta collecting..

i prefer the real thing aswell. but the only beta cds i have (non-downloaded ones) are those ones in the picture, some beta 1 cds and a Fung Wan Online beta cd

edit:
for those that want to know what each disc is, heres a list:

Vista RC1 32bit
Vista RC1 64bit
Vista RC1 64bit Checked
Vista RC1 32bit Checked
Longhorn Server 64bit Checked
Longhorn Server 32bit Checked
Longhorn Server 64bit
Longhorn Server 32bit
Vista SDK for RC1
Vista WDK for RC1

if someone wants them uploaded, i might uploaded them but seeing as they are several GB in size i might not be able too.

A checked build is also known as a debug build, it contains Traces and Asserts.
If you're writing kernel level stuff like drivers and such I would think a Checked build would be preferable.

For more info go to Larry Osterman's WebLog

The DVDs in the case turned up today, I scanned the cover if your'e
wanting to print one, the DVD's look different to the previous one's too!,
i'll scan them if your'e wanting to make a label for them..

Beware dial up - this image is 1.3mb, even though I resized it to 2/3 of
it's original scanned size..

As far as I know, RC2 isn't actually a full milestone so won't be shipped on DVD.

MY RC1 DVDs came today Thing is, this build is just as useless as the last one - 5728 failed after clicking "Install Windows" right at the start of Setup with the message about CD drivers missing, while this one stops even earlier, the "Windows is Loading Files" progress bar filling up and then nothing else happening. Oh well, the DVD set is a really cool thing to have anyway - I really like collecting this kind of stuff, definitely worth a few quid from Microsoft.

Rather suspiciously I think, it seems to work in Virtual PC (which I don't want to use, as it's so much slower than VMware) - reckon Microsoft are deliberately making things difficult for VMware?

Maybe Virtual PC is simply better.

A download page has just gone up for RC2 - http://download.windowsvista.com/previe ... wnload.htm - the files aren't available yet, but it confirms that the build will be public (for a limited time), will be 5744, and will not be available on DVD.
