Hi,

I'm Using Vista final, but I don't have DWM, and don't have the money to upgrade my card to somthing that supports DWM.

I thought, because when I used 5219, you could force DWM to work on my computer, and was relativley recent build, that you could copy the working files/drivers etc for DWM from 5219 to Vista Final and add the appropriate Reg entries and it would be forced.

Is this the case or would it die on its arse?

i doubt that would work but i dont think you would have to do that anyway. im pretty sure you can do a similar thing in Vista Final. I'll look later when i get on my Vista machine. what card have you got anyway, because if its far outside the spec, it will just lock the computer.

I'm using an ATi Radeon 9250 - XDDM Driver.

DWM/Glass worked fine up-until after 5219, with no lag or problems at all. It wont run now of course because it is hardware, not software driven and they arent any Reg Edits/Patches that will enable this to run later then 5219 on my card.

all builds compile in 2005 could run DWM with the reg. trick. All builds in 2006 can't enable through registries.

You can eble on any video crads.

I think 5048 was released in about April 2005, 5219 about September/October 2005.

5219 was completed on 2005/08/30 and publically released on 9/13
