Hey guys, it's me again. I just bought a laptop with Vista Home Basic on it, and I was wondering if anyone has seen anything to add AERO Glass to Home Basic. I know my system will run it, because the upgrade advisor said I can upgrade to Premium with AERO Glass. I get a score of 2.5 for my video performance.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think, because if not, then I'll just run Vista Home Basic.

Thanks in advance.

You'd think there would be a way to extract the relevant components from the DVD and add them to your installation though - it certainly hasn't been discovered yet but these sorts of things tend to be possible (like adding Media Centre and Tablet PC to XP Professional has been done). Another possibility that could be discovered in years to come is hacking the Anytime Upgrade process to make it install all the additional components from the DVD, but not require a new product key or re-activation (so it would still be activated and validate as Home Basic using your original Key, but it would have all the Ultimate bits installed). It can't be impossible...
