Hi,
I have the 2000 Sever RC2 already installed and I want to install the SP 4 for Win2000Sever but it doesn't work, because I must have Build 2195 (the final Build).
How can I trap the SP4 ,so I can install it.

2000XP :)

it doesnt work for good reasons, it would cause a lot of trouble.

and when people get it working (like bens neptune project where he installed sp4 over neptune), its damn hard to do.

Extract the installer, go to i386\update and open the update.inf file.

Code:
[Version]

    Signature                 = "$Windows NT$"
    LanguageType              = %LangTypeValue%
    NtBuildToUpdate           = 2195
    NtMajorVersionToUpdate    = 5
    NtMinorVersionToUpdate    = 0
    MaxNtBuildToUpdate        = 2195
    MaxNtMajorVersionToUpdate = 5
    MaxNtMinorVersionToUpdate = 0
    MinNtServicePackVersion   = 0
    MaxNtServicePackVersion   = 1024
    ThisServicePackVersion    = 1024
    CatalogFile               = sp4.cat

Maybe it works if you change the line
Code:
    NtBuildToUpdate           = 2195

to
Code:
    NtBuildToUpdate           = 2128

but I am not sure...

I would not recommend it, The Service Packs are written for the Final build (RTM).

It contains some program files and other files written for 2195 and not for earlier build, even if the build number is almost as high as the Final build.

If you have RC2 of Windows 2000 installed (I hope not as an domain controller on an real network) just use it as it is.
