I recently got into this Beta Program on Microsoft Connect:

There are installers for:

Active Storage Platform - Vista - 32 bit
Active Storage Platform - Vista - 64 bit
Active Storage Platform - XP SP2/3/Windows Server 2003 - 32 bit

Smart Card Driver - Vista - 32 bit
Smart Card Driver - Vista - 64 bit
Smart Card Driver - XP SP2/3/Windows Server 2003 - 32 bit

IMAPI update for Blu-Ray media - Vista - 32 bit
IMAPI update for Blu-Ray media - Vista - 64 bit
IMAPI update for Blu-Ray media - XP SP2/3/Windows Server 2003 - 32 bit
IMAPI update for Blu-Ray media - XP SP2/3/Windows Server 2003 - 64 bit

These are time-bombed to expire on 10/31/2008

Update: Vista x64 installers posted.
Update 2: Vista x86 installers posted.
Update 3: XP and Server 2003 installers posted

Its a brand-new Beta Feature pack for Windows, The First one was the "Feature Pack for Wireless" (OEM and IHV only, for now), the Second was the "Media Center TV Pack 2008" (OEM only until September) and now this, The "Feature Pack for Storage"

As far as I can tell (haven't tried it yet) It adds native support for: burning Blu-Ray disks, new smart cards, and IEEE 1667 Security features for portable devices. In three separate install packages (separate for now)

I've never heard of them either. I'll be glad when support for encrypted flash drives is build into Windows. If that's what IEEE 1667 does. I'm hoping that's what it does.
