I will use the Datacenter version with my home server. Maybe Server version for my Quake 3 server ocassionally if I don't choose NT4 over it.

Upgrade your RAM and get a SSD, you will get super fast boot!

4gb is maximum ram, which is barely enogh for win10 to run properly. Also, i have better things to do than buying an ssd.

Windows 10 can work perfect in 1GB RAM

Oh, and I've run 8.1 with Office 2013 with a 512 mb ram laptop with integrated graphics from 2006. It works :P

My grandparents still had Windows XP Home on their computer (with Chrome installed) until 2015, where they upgraded to Windows 7 Pro on a computer Justine and Jamie (a couple who used to live underneath their house but now live in their own home) brought for them. Suppoedly the licence "expired" on it months later (I didn't get to see it as a W7 computer) and upgraded it to Ubuntu GNOME 15.10. I once updated Chrome one Easter and ended up breaking Chrome, thus requiring an upgrade. As they had no knowledge of regular Ubuntu (which had recently reverted to the GNOME desktop), they upgraded it to Ubuntu GNOME 16.04. It's like they thought the regular project was abounded.

I also recall Justine and Jamie saying something among the lines of "runs on something called GNOME", like they had no knowledge on Linux.

As of March 2018, numerous servers at the UN were running Windows 2000:

There are quite a few things that I remember from Windows 2000. Apart from the fact that it is not too obsessed with the cloud, I did not have to worry about activations when I had to reinstall Windows. Today, it is part of my VMware collection, with most of the Office 2000 programs.

I still use it as my daily web surfing machine with New Moon, A fork of the Pale Moon Browser, and it can do just about everything i need it to besides youtube and Spotify but other than that it is a good little web browsing machine. I recommend installing all the unofficial updated to it before putting it on the web so you can at least run XP applications.
