First post on this forum! Please welcome me.

Anyway, a while ago I did a video where I "upgraded" Windows XP to Neptune. This was possible because XP is NT 5.1 while Neptune is 5.5.

Neptune was pretty sweet for a beta, at least that's what I thought when I used it

Windows Neptune is older than Windows XP, so I don't know why they used an upgrade from Windows XP.

Neptune's version is higher than XP's - Neptune is NT 5.50, while XP is NT 5.01.

XP is NT 5.1, 5.01 I believe was some early whistler builds

Any Windows build
Technically, you can't upgrade to Neptune. The only leaked build (5.5.5111.1) does not allow you to use the setup program for upgrades. You can only install it as a clean install.

5.01 is 5.1, lol
just formatted that way in earlier builds, but in newer builds it reads it as 5.1 when it's still technically 5.01 because that's in the kernel
