I had many trouble with XP MCE 05 Rollup 2 so i wont install it, but the zune software requires it, is there any workaround?

I think not.

Some of the software NEEDS part of Roll-up 2 otherwise they wouldnt ask it.
So, install it or your cant install it.

And no, you cant let the program think is there because you've edited the registery.

I agree. I have a fully updated MCE 2005 on my Thinkpad (random I know), and the Zune software works fine with Rollup 2.

This does not work. When you run the application, it crashes immediately.

Ill try, thanks, but i had the idea using tweak nt for making my xp mce 05 to xp home or pro and then install it in safe mode :) o hope it works

So, install it Rollup-2 or your cant install your program.

downloaded twice, but still the same.... :(

edit, dont want to format just for the zune... now after extracting archive and installing it the zune software doesnt start :x

okay... use an iPod or Windows XP Pro. original!

or.... Linux with Wine....

thought about downgrading to xp pro, xp pro setup shouldnt recgognize it as far its the same setup what it is afaik :)

hope it works
