Hey all,




I read on a website somewhere that i can use the C:\i386 folder on my laptop to create an XP boot install/repair disk. How do i do this?



PS. I already have the win2k boot.bin

I have never tried to do it, nor heared about it but i think its just about to copy the systemroot:/i386 folder to cd:/i386 and set the boot file to NT 5.x boot file (use UltraISO or something like that to do it).

What about this one? Of course, that's only one way to do this, there are many more, such as using mkisofs or other tools (nLite can also be used to do just that).

There may be troubles if the laptop uses a OEM version.

You will need however to add so-called "tag files" to the ROOT of CD (or edit TXTSETUP.SIF).
