In Windows 95 B and C I cannot use Internet Explorer. Instead I get an error message that says:
Code:
An unexcepted error has occured. Restart Internet Explorer, and then try again.

It occurs in IE 3.0. Also occured in IE 4.0, but it could be because it's for NT 4.0. Does anyone have a fix for this problem? (I just want everything to work fine, and I heard browsing through the internet in Windows 3.11 rocks)

LOL, every time I try to browse the Internet through WfW 3.11 IE just crashes, even on Microsoft's own websites. Yeah, it ROCKS.

Sorry, I don't have any fix for your NT 4.0 problems. Try a different browser?

This is really just a shot in the dark: Did you try opening a Windows Explorer window then typing a URL into the address bar?

QuiescentWonder, I meant that the IE4 I have works for NT 4.0 so it's probably made for NT 4.0, sorry about that. Anyway, I can't open a website via Windows Explorer because there is no address bar present :(

betaluva, thanks for all the updates. I'm downloading it right now.

I used in Windows 98 FE in VPC 2007, and IE 4 kept on crashing. Updating to IE 6 SP1 solved the problem. :D

Ah, sorry about that. In case you're ever looking for any other old versions you can try www.oldversion.com or the FTP. I've seen some site catered to old versions of IE before but who knows where it is.

Also, I'm pretty sure you can turn on the address bar, even in NT 4.0. It should be in the menu or folder options somewhere.

You have to install the Desktop Update if you want the address bar, Windows 98-style Explorer Bar buttons (back/forward etc) and a Quick Launch toolbar in Windows 95 or NT 4.0 - this only comes with IE4 so you have to install the full IE4 and select the update pack, then install IE6 SP1 and you will have the 98-style shell.

Sorry for late post, but I did get IE 5.5 to work in Windows 95(although you can't browse much). All I had to do was to install 2 updates. Thanks betaluva!
