Chicago 58s drivers?

Post by vlad557776 »

Hello.

Recently I was trying to install Chicago 58s on PCem with high resolution using some built-in drivers.

I tried a few cards - they all still aren't recognized by Chicago (It still selects VGA).

Please do NOT tell me to use 86box - it's super slow.

Any help?

What video adapter do I select at the Setup?

86Box is not slow unless you have a slow PC.

It's a fork of PCem, so it's about as fast. The committed build uses the DirectDraw renderer as default which is slow on most modern graphics cards, set it to Direct3D or SDL, and it will be as far as PCem.

Also, floppies will be slower because 86Box approximates accurate floppy timings, while PCem does not.

So were actual computers that one was likely to be using Chicago on at the time.
