I ran into this thing from an old FTP server. It's interesting with the version number as 4.10.2120 and the files dated December 1998 which is the same as the full 4.10.2120 build. I searched here and couldn't find anything about it, and I haven't seen it on the FTP either. Checking the INF files it seems that the "Beta" branding was removed, while it is present in 4.10.2088 and 4.10.2091. The digital signature is also valid and dated December 22, 1998. It seems to share many of the characteristics of a Windows 98 SP1 beta, but is somewhat smaller (about 8 MB) so that leads me to wonder if it's incomplete. In any case, I've uploaded it to the FTP. If anyone has any more information about this, please share. I don't have any Windows 98 first edition VMs on hand so I haven't tested it out yet.

Well, it's one of the oddest 9x builds, period. Unlike the other SP1 builds, there is no setup process in this one. You just run the .exe, wait for a while, reboot and hope for the best. Once installed, it behaves exactly like the other Windows 98 SP1 builds. If it weren't for the build number, these builds would be very, very different.
