Here are some interesting things about Chicago:

The early builds of Chicago installed the same way as Windows 3.1 did. I can create some screenshots from the Chicago Build 34 mimic I'm currently creating.

They also booted from MS-DOS, but they would not run on MS-DOS 6.22 or earlier. They required MS-DOS 7.0 Codenamed Cougar.

Also, the early Chicago Builds used a modified Program Manager. As you can see in the Chicago Build 21i and 34 screenshots that Namronia provided, program group icons are displayed on the desktop, so those screenshots are almost certainly real. Edit: If you look in the oldsetup.inf file, you can see that the name of the shell used by early Chicago Builds was "progman.exe".

Also, in the Chicago Beta One Reviewers Guide there is a possible Chicago Build 78 screenshot, and a possible Chicago Build 99 screenshot.

As you can see in the above screenshot, there are messages from Microsoft Programmers about Chicago.

Here's a funny screenshot :P

As you can see, there is an Internet Mail letter to Billg and we all know his name, Bill Gates :D :D :D :D :D

Do you mean the screenshots I posted in this topic? The screenshots I posted in this topic can't be fake, because they are from the Chicago Beta One Reviewers Guide.

Beta 1 means beta 1 (build 122), not builds 7x-9x alpha range, right?

And that bug with the taskbar, that it's not to the end to right part of the screen, AFAIK arrives sometimes when you set taskbar to the top in beta 1...

Here is a possible Chicago Build 83 screenshot and a possible Chicago Build 89 screenshot. According to OBrasilo, Chicago Build 83 may very well have actually included Schedule+ and could have branched into what was later Nashville. Although the screenshot shown below does not show Schedule+, it shows Microsoft Mail, which was probably also included.
