What about Windows 2.00?

I found it on DjRob's site and I cannot find any other information on the Internet.
(Can't search forum: too common)

Does anyone have it and are there any screenshoots?
I assume it is very rare but does it exist on FTP?

Once you get 10 GOOD posts and apply for access to the FTP, you will be able to download Windows 2.00.

I have made some research recently, downloaded some archives claiming to be Windows 2.00 but all of them were 2.03 just mislabeled.
In most documents and also on install floppies 2.03 was reffered as Microsoft Windows 2.0 so someone who labelled the archive didn't check it and just added another zero in the end.
I think the first version of 2.x that was on the market was 2.03.

EDIT: And the Windows 2.0.rar on BA's server is also 2.03...

I couldn't get Windows 2.0 working, from the 2.x era I only got 2.03 and 2.1 for 286 to work.

Others are not complete or cannot get past setup.

I have Windows 7 too. But like most of you here, I want to have complete collection. Am I Right?

And without history there is no future (H)

Because some people want to know about the past. Otherwise, PCem wouldn't have allowed us to run MS-DOS 2.00

You're right... But if you want a REAL complete collection, you'll need a unleaked build of any Windows OS

Maybe it is, I'm not sure whether Windows 2.00 exists, but I know for sure that 2.03 had updated icons.

I meant only leaked builds. :D

By the way I have Windows 2.11 286 which is working properly under Virtual PC 2007 SP1. If any one is interested for the virtual machines...

Next versions works with me:
-Windows 2.03
-Windows 2.1 286
-Windows 2.11 286

I have Windows 2.1 386 disks, I go throw the whole setup and when I run Windows it says: Error reading drive C. Maybe it is the driver problem or something, and tried both DOS 3.30 and DOS 5.0. I think i have succeded to start it but it was a year ago and maybe I used VirtualPC 2004.

I don't have Windows 2.11 386 disks.

There is no Windows 2.00 - or else there'd be a story about why we haven't got it, wouldn't there?

Maybe there is story, but there is no so many people interested in Windows 2.00. Everybody wanted to find 1.00, the first version of Windows and why versions start at 1.01 and not at 1.00. Same with Windows 2.x: We have 2.03 but where are 2.00, 2.01 or 2.02?

I've just had an interesting little thought: what if that's not a version number, but something like an early attempt at using build numbers?
