In this guide you will learn how to remove MS-DOS exit instructions when you open the MS-DOS prompt.

1. Open SYSTEM.INI file (it's located in the C:\WINDOWS directory)
2. In the [386Enh] section add the following line: DOSPromptExitInstruc=off
3. Save and close the file.
4. You need to restart Windows for changes to take effect.

You know it would help if you put screenshots for your guides. Just a suggestion.

Gosh, ye need screenshots to edit ini files these days. In the win30 manual, there is a section on editing win.ini with edlin. I mean, the info is clear enough.

I didn't say I need screenshots to help me edit INI files or that the info wasn't clear enough. Screenshots can show before/after so we can decide if the tweak, especially if it's a cosmetic one like changing one notice, or changing the look of Excel boxes is worth doing instead of actually doing it. Why do app websites have screenshots? Is it because we can't install the apps ourselves to check it out? :D

What's do you mean by "exit instruction"? It removes the exit command?
