Windows 3.1 Betas

Post by Chicago »

Hi!!
I've also got a Windows 3.11 beta, but it's actually complete (almost) do you know if there are any Windows 3.0 betas? Something between Windows 2.03 or 286/386 and Windows 3?
That's something I'd really love to have!

Janus is the codename for Windows 3.1. 3.0 had a different codename, if it had one. And "286" is not a codename for 2.x, it was used to differentiate between the "normal" Windows 2.x versions (Windows/286) and other versions that were able to access more memory (Windows/386) AFAIK.

It was Windows 3.11's. (Or WFW 3.11's? But I'm quite sure this is codenamed Sparta...)

I'm quite sure it wasn't.

Janus is the codename of windows 3.1

Why not check the MS OS Checklist on this tread for codenames and leaked versions of windows.

Janus is the code-name of Windows 3.1, Spart (or even Kato) of Windows for Workgroups 3.1, and Snowball of Windows for Workgroups 3.11.
