EDIT 2: One thing i can claim: dx10 don't need WDDM really.

Build 3801 with some fixes and full mass storage support is out (x86 and x64)!

EDIT 3: Shorthorn Build Environment is avaliable!

Hello everybody. I'm almost getting full support of new loader system from Vista to NT 5.x. I can say: is possible! I made tests with XP, Server 2003 and XP/2003 x64 and systems are loaded. However, on x64 systems, i get a error using default bootvid.dll(VGA boot driver) and error with vgapnp driver. Whats the gain? Possiblity to use newer versions of Vista setup, with multiimage support. So, i and everybody can make multi-image of all XP editions, all Longhorn's, all Server 2003 on same disk. This is very great.

Does that mean LDDM/WDDM support is canceled? :/

Any possibilities of other SKU's of Shorthorn? Such as Tablet Edition? I'd like to use this on my testing laptop.

Hello, i finished 3803 on weekend however i had problems with upoad. Well, this build still with old interface, only because: i got problems when integrate Longrhorn/vista interface to i386 setup, an BSOD. So, is hard integrate always the interface when make a WIM build. For make a wim build, i always install a clean i386 installation. Is more efficient.

EDIT 2: Hello my friends, i need say some things: exist problems what i really don't know how solve. These problems are stopping the progress to port and evolution of Windows Shorthorn. So, i want peoples to help me. An examples of problems:

- Longhorn 4039 - 4093 theme service not work on Server 2003, even using Longhorn service manager (services.exe);
- Actxprxy is an important dll for interface. On 5048 and up, is responsable to show correctly Explorer windows, ie Windows, sync manager and others. On 5219, this dll is loaded and registered, however, Explorer windows were blank. So, i think what problem reside on rpcrt4, and need people to confirm and implement a solution. I must emphasize that is FUNDAMENTAL to port newer interfaces, include RTM;
- MMdevapi is an important dll of new Vista Audio engine. However, on 5112 and above, this dll not loaded on Server 2003, XP and Longhorn builds until 4051. So, how load and registered this dll?;
- Sdclt is Windows Backup exe. On Server 2003/XP and Longhorn builds until 4051. So, how this exe could be loaded?
- On x64 system, wow64.dll loaded knowndll hard codec user32 and kernel32, however, when use kernel32 wrapper, wow64 system is not loaded. Why it happen?
- Winload can load Windows 5.x and Windows 6.x beta systems. However, on x64 systems, i got a BSOD. Changing bootvid.dll (responsable of bsod) with reactos version and disableing boot animation, can be loaded. But, bootvid from reactos work propertly on x64 systems.. So, we need this dll work, to get winload and use new Vista setups (what don't support ntdll, boot.ini and ntdetect.com) with multi-image support. I'm making tests with Longhorn, and getting success;

Exist more things, but, these are fundamental to solve. So, who can and want help, tell me with pm. We can make a better Windows ever.

Build 3803 on first page (x86 and x64). The "milestone 1" ends with 3810 build.

EDIT: Correct me if i'm wrong, but: Dxgkrnl (Driver base for WDDM Model) is only an evolution of video port. Is linked with Watchdog and Video driver require functions from these drivers, however, the different form.

EDIT 2: Hello, propably next build on monday with some improviments, like introducing Speech recognition. I decide introduce Longhorn interface on milestone 2 (build 3811 and above).

EDIT 3: Please, test application designed for Vista + to discovery needed dll missing on XP/2003. These dll will be added for libraries pack

I see no change as a XPx64 : o
No interface difference, no programs ..
I thought is was like an 5112 interface .
I think i have not understand the goal in fact.
Its look like a reboot.ok it seem many dll's are changed, (2014)
but i seen nothing different, Memory charge still the same as original XP.
^^

The OP includes a changelog, lots of things have been changed, even Samuka himself is making replies saying what did he exactly do. It's not about UI only.

Samuka, I'm having issues between your latest Shorthorn and my Nvidia GT 230M Graphics card.
I keep getting:
Image
I get:

With the default installer for the drivers. Used custom and express options, with the same result.

Any possible explanation? This is with the latest Nvidia drivers, which worked great with Server 2003 SP1. There isn't any change to the device listing, except to "Display" after using the default nvidia installer. The closest I got was using VBEMP, but that resulted in a code 10. However, I got the Terms & Conditions startup prompt from the Kernel, which surprised me.

FYI: The prompt I'm talking about is a message from the kernel saying you're using VBEMP and whatnot, as supplied by the driver on startup.
