I don't think you can use the code, but i guessed you ment built on top anyway.

You might want to ask WindowsOCmanage, i hear it it's his speciality.

Well Windows OC Manage, djrob, I and like 32+ Members are working on a OS like yours, with the DWM inputs and the Visual Effects. Ask him about it and for sure he'll tell you. maybe you can join.

Name Offially of Windows Codename ShortHorn is simply "ShortHorn". I like This name. ShortHorn be divided in: ShortHorn(main) and ShortHorn R2.
ShortHorn will be based in Server 2003 Kernel With Longhorn/Vista files and fetures, with maximum performance..
And ShortHorn R2 will be based in Windows 7 milestone 1, with most performance, Windows 7 RTM features and news...
Wait and be surprised!!

Well, the shorthorn will be reset equal to Longhorn because the speed of it is not at my standards ....I want before beta 1 of shorthorn run explorer of vista beta 1 or better...run with shell32 of vista beta 1, but, running with shell32 of server 2003 too. Explorer.exe of Vista beta 1 will be equal to "visplorer", but made in microsoft. Dwm will be of longhorn 5048, becouse run with XDDM Driver. It uses a Longhorn 4074 setup engine, with WInPE, WinPE Driver and system image only on install.wim, else of panther engine. Perhaps in the end use of the engine of vista RTM. The most problem is winload, which requires signature digital of ntoskrnl, but the 2003 server has not.
The time line of Shorthorn will be:
31 january of 2010: Milestone 1 release at builds 3800 -4000
15 march of 2010: Milestone 2 release at builds 4001 - 4150
30 april of 2010: Milestone 3 and pre-beta release at builds 4151 - 4300
30 June of 2010: beta 1 release and pre-beta 2 at builds 4301 - 4500
15 august of 2010: Beta 2 release and pre-RC 1 at builds 4501 - 4650
30 September of 2010: Rc 1 release and pre Rc 2 at builds 4650 - 4750
30 october of 2010: Rc 2 release and pre RTM at builds 4750 - 4900
30 november or 15 december of 2010: RTM release at builds 4900 - 5001 or 5100

Shorthorn R2 is based in Windows 7 Milestone 1 with tweaks and RTM features.
The time line of shorthorn R2:
15 january of 2010: Milestone 1 and pre-beta release at builds 6500 - 6800
25 february of 2010: Beta 1 release and pre-RC at builds 6800 - 7050
30 april of 2010: Rc 1 release and pre-Rc 2 at builds 7050 - 7200
30 june of 2010: Rc 2 release and pre RTM at builds 7201 - 7400
30 september of 2010: RTM release at builds 7400 - 7700

First build of Shorthorn with many screenshots will be in first week of january, with must news!
Please wait

Well, I already compiled build from 3800 to 4135, except that I have to reset pq became slow and some problems ... I do differently now, using the setup or longhorn 4074, or vista beta 1 or beta 2 and maybe, if you can, the sight of the end ...
I am almost without pc, so using a duron 800 Mhz, for my mother board burned ... So I can do it again in February or March pra (aa ask God to be in February)

Well, diretx 10 is very complicated since it requires a WDDM driver pra work ... But the dwm in 5048 does not require special driver, and I will try to redirect the dlls ... Has the 4074, so that I never turn on driver xp dead and with my Radeon X1650 Pro I get lucky, but I will have to do an imitation of zero

Short of having source code for all of these build's, and expert coding skill's to match, I fail to see how you will accomplish your goals.

Replacing ntoskrnl and other exe kernel files run fine without replace win32.sys from Server 2003? (replace Longhorn old kernel files with Server 2003 SP2 kernel)

You have Windows Server 2003 Build 5001? uahauahauha

Microsoft seems to be stupid .... If Win32k Longhorn has all the "lines" of server 2003, that simply changing the kernel exe not work ... does not make sense

Well, it's simple. Unique image supported is vista beta 1 original image. And, use winload is bootloader.... But, work fine on Xp and Server 2003.I'll probably do the testing from this week .... I'm not PC. The case of the image is so use the mount command, removing files and placing the order that you want to ... well, probably even this week I already bring results and how

Well, i bring news!
My computer work fine now (more fast too) and i make testing for longhorn
Ironically, i try install Longhorn 4028 on my computer and the system reboot in loop. This is in real mode and virtual mode(vmware)

I'm testing Vista beta 1 setup and winload with server 2003 and work fine. Setup install bootmgr and winload boot 2003 kernel...Install.wim image can't create, only mount and replace files.
Image is very longer, with 800 mb "empty", but occupying space....But, is very funtinal

Longhorn 4074 setup is fully functional, with install on other windows, and boot and install.

My tests now are with Longhorn 5048 kernel on server 2003 or making longhorn 5048 stable and usable with Xp updates and any features...

First rebuild of longhorn will be on next week
