I'm renovating my website again, and would like to make it so that in one style the title is a .gif file, but in the other it's just text. How can I do that?

Not quite sure how you mean. Are you having two different CSS styles to choose from?

Aye. Each page has a title, which currently is a .gif image. I want to preserve that, but with the second style have text in its place.

It's probably not possible, considering each page has a seperate title...

Its possible to change the image but not the text. CSS does not change text, only the style applied to the element. Having a different image on each page is not worth coding CSS for since you would need a different class for each image. You're better off hard coding it into each page.

Yeah, well in that case I might just not use the images any more, then. Is there a way I can embed that font into the page?

No, you can't use fonts that aren't on the clients system. If you want to use a non-standard font you have to make an image of it.

If you want to use just one CSS file and one class, you can add
Code:
style="background: url('img/image.ext');"
to the div/span tag to override the class definition.

You can use remote fonts with the HTML5 specification, though - Firefox 3.5 supports it already :)
