You can use the Upgrade version to do a clean install.

I did it for Vista, so I might as well for 7 (then again I got Vista upgrade for free)

Me. I've done the Upgrade clean-install trick 3 times already, so another time won't hurt.

Damn, any country in the EU can't order because of the stupid browser business.

And my email states that the ESRP will be $119.99 and $199.99
(Did you notice that the email siad "Only $49.99 for Home Premium and $99.99 for Pro?)
I wonder if that means we are back to XP style versions, Home, Pro, and Ultimate for all the bells and whistles.

Scratch the Ultimate. It was 49.99 for Pro Upgrade if I remember correctly.

I've already pre-ordered my copy of the Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade from Amazon. I wouldn't mind installing Windows twice in order to save a chunk of money. If I do reformat my hard drive, I guess I will install my unused copy of Windows XP first, then install 7 onto it via a clean install.

Technically piracy? I do own a Windows XP Home license. (Though it's OEM).

And people have been doing this with Windows Vista Upgrade licenses, too, yet I do not see you crying blood Mary to the posters who have posted before me.
