is there any way to disable the check of the size of floppies in virtualpc?

its very annoying to have files that are bootable and so on but on the wrong size... in vmware it works great...

Floppy image files must be of the correct size (either 720K or 1.4MB).

thanks.

It is hardcoded into the .exe file.

Maybe you can hexedit it out, but I don't know.

But most bootable floppy's can be saved as 1.44 mb floppy's or 720kb floppy's.

Just open it with PowerISO or any other such program and extract the BOOT information, and save it, then copy all files to another folder.

Open WinImage and then insert the files and boot sector and save.
Wola, now it's bootable with 720kb or 1.44mb.

Mind that it not always works!

If you got floppy images of incompatible sizes then simply use WinImage and convert it to a suitable format. It will keep the boot sector and allow you to open them up in VPC. If you use real floppies you can always dump them (using the same application) into images and convert them. The less you use the floppies the longer they will live :).
