I was trawling the internet, and I came across a few pieces of software that are uber-useful for keeping your system in shape.

The Uniblue Suite is a great piece of kit that helps stop some of the new Windows OS's from clogging up with waste files and other useless rubbish. Also, the suite applies a few registry patches that can increase general system performance, and can also increase internet speed.

Though basic system maintenance can prevent this from happening, using this and doing basic maintenance will really keep your system up to par.

Costs around £40, last time I checked, but it is worth it. (If you cant afford it, I am sure you can find an [cough]alternative[/cough] way of getting it...)

Hope you enjoy this little gem!

Just easier to stick to my current solution of a bit of manual work every now and then, plus a dose of CCleaner. Does the job just fine on any PC of mine, even when I was using the 4Gb EeePC.

This suite matches what CCleaner does... But does not cost £40. Oops...

Out of interest, do you have Vista, and if so, what tweaks have you made to the registry?

I would say, leave the registery alone, or just use CCleaner for it.
Do not mod it, tweak it or anything else, then you can screw up you're pc right on the spot is BSOD and will never work again until an complete reinstall.

Much of these software are just cleaners and they want you to pay something for what CCleaner can do for free.

Also much of this software is just ****, taking too much ram to do nothing.
Most PC's run fine as they are bought, they slow down because of file fragmentation and most people buy an PC, then run a game or application that is 5 years newer and it takes all the RAM the machine have, then off-course the PC is slow, and it's the PC's fault (Wrong, it's you're fault).
This is not meant at the OP, but to the software that is just ****, expensive and does nothing really.

He meant that the PC suite that he posted (which is ****) costs 40 pounds.
And he also says that CCleaner does the same for free.

Sorry, my grammar was absolutely terrible when I wrote that.

Also, about registry editing. What if you know what you are doing?

You can change it, but test it first in a VM before applying it to you're pc.

You can change this one:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

The registeredorganization and registeredowner.
Which changes the name and company from Windows User to you're name and company.

And some other things.
