Hi there!

I'm going for a road trip with a friend from San Francisco to San Francisco ^^
Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Brice Canyon, Indian Reservation... National parks.

A few weeks ago I made another one, from SF to Las Vegas, including the Death Valley, Area 51, Hoover Dam. But the thing is... No radio! FM and AM waves are empty... Driving 8 hours a day without music, I just can't.

So I'm looking for musics fitting to my road trip ^^
I don't really like Dance, Techno, Rap, R&B. I prefer Country, Pop, Rock, 80's, even 70's.
He thing is, I know some musics but I don't know the titles/artists so I don't know what to look for.

If you have some albums you like, please let me know!

Thanks!

Ah, well I've wasted tons of time compiling playlists of music on last.fm. It's mostly rock/pop.

Kinda cliche and lame, but CCR would fit what you describe...

My tastes aren't the same as yours, but here are the albums I'd choose.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Led Zepplin I and IV by Led Zepplin
The Inner Mounting Flame by Mahavishnu Orchestra
A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
The Grand Wazoo by Frank Zappa
The Spotlight Kid by Captain Beefheart
Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys
SMiLE by the Beach Boys ( yes, it was completed and yes you can get it If you look hard enough.)

Isn't St. Alfonzo's Pancake Breakfast on Sheik Yerbouti? I assumed you would have recommened that one. :P

I think Flakes is my favorite Zappa song, followed by Cosmic Debris and San Ber'dino. I'm not a huge fan though.

Ah, nevermind. Apostrophe.

Be thankful you corrected yourself there! I almost went ape-crap on you. :)
I didn't recommend Apostrophe because isn't fitting for visiting the Grand Canyon.
If this weren't the problem, I would recommend You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore, Vol. 2.
This live album has all the songs from Apostrophe played with more effort and several
other genius songs like Inca Roads, RDNZL, Approximate etc.

(By the way, you can't call yourself a fan until you buy Hot Rats.)
