don't use the 6801. This build is not stable. Why don't you use the public beta build 7000?

It may lags, because of new features and I don't know if any patch exists for timebomb :P

Build 7000 is the one to go for tbh.

It is a lot quicker than 6801 - worth a try.

Let us know how you get on.

why do you want to use a timebomb patch? Activate it with the public keys and use it until Rc is out later this year.

I have an Intel Celeron processor myself (2.1GHz) and it runs just fine on my desktop computer.

Dude, stop asking and just try it.
So it could lag like crap, not like you've got anything to lose.

The RC worked decently on my P3 1 GHz laptop, but since it's a celeron, it might not run very well.

I saw a video of the RC build running on a 1.3 GHz Celeron processor. It managed it fine.

I guess it depends on the hardware besides the processor. For instance I can run it quite well on my desktop with 1gb ram and a 2ghz processor with aero enabled even but if I put it on my laptop with 512 mb ram, no aero, and a 1.8ghz processor it is largely slower.

I have a P4 3,0GHz now with Hyper-Threading
and 1GB of DDR2 RAM
Sadly I don't have Aero because I have a GMA 900 8-)
I tried Vista last time, it was slow :P
I may try Windows 7 soon

A lot of time people don't take in to account HDD speed, which is a major factor of speed.

You would be amazed at how usable XP is on even an 800MHz P3 is with a decent amount of RAM and a new HDD.

arthrmx or whatever: You should have saved up more money, you could probably purchase a nice desktop with a few hundred $.

As long as you have a decent amount of ram it isn't as bad as it used to be (superfetch and all) but during boot or while doing other disk intensive things most people do blame everything but the hard drive.
