How often do you all backup your system?
I don't at all only because it would be trouble to back up over 100GB onto DVD's.

Daily on the server.

Hardly ever for the betas and personal data. I really should start doing it more though.

Once a week or so. That covers my personal data which is backed up on an external RAID. My betas and that stuff are backed up less regularly to a single external hard disk.

Never really. I keep betas, OSes etc on CD rather than on my HD though. If I'm working on a really important document then I'll sometimes copy it to a USB keydrive, but nothing else really

Pretty much never, though I back up my SVN repository every now and then (I'd hate to lose 6 months of work to a faulty harddrive...).

I actually set up my storage server to do backups but it ended up just being a storage server, not a backup one as well.

I need ANOTHER server just to do the backing up. As soon as 500gb drives come down in price im going to get two and RAID them, and back up all of my vital data.

Sometimes I would back up my school work to my external harddrive, but it isn't frequent. When I do need the backup it is all out of date.

Once a month, unless the download drive fills up before then...
Every single month I back all downloaded betas & whatnot onto DVD's
& place them in a safe place...
I rar everything 1st using the best compression method option, & add a
recovery record to all rarred files, then label or mark what is on the DVD..
Unfortunately the early 64bit Vistas were still too big to fit a single layer
DVD when rarred so dual layer disks had to be used for them...

I never backup my whole system... ISOHUNT.c0m is my backup drive....

I backup documents and licenses automatically to a removable HD via synctoy...

On occasion I use DD to backup my system, but thats only if i'm using less then ~10 gigs of space...

I recomend you get a removable HD :D

I never backup my hard drive actually because anything I want to keep gets saved to removable disks anyway. For things that get updated often like drivers and programs I keep them on rewritable DVD-RAM cartridges, and more permanent stuff goes on DVD-R. As for Windows if it has a problem I would much rather just do a clean install than restore it from an old image.

I have my computer from about 3 months ago backed up on about 11 DVDs. However, my 80+gb beta collection just stays on my harddrive, they're too much of a hassle to back up on dvds (single layer).

Same for me here, just too much of a hassle to burn on CDs/DVDs, I do that very rarely, I just backup the data on external hard drives or storage subsystems (aka RAIDs).

I backup frequently to my 80Gig drive, i would never ever want to loose my animation work. For all of you burning DVD's as backups, I would recommend you go and by a rewritable Hard drive or flash drive - It makes backing up a snap, and you wont be upset when you loose your work to a disc scratch :P.

ummm never really, like many other people I store my stuff on dvd's almost straight away. But for the past 2 or 3 months, since I've only been doing video editing, audio editing and gaming on Age Of Empires1 I just haven't been bothered to do it:p.

I only back up my forum about once a week, I have a external drive where i keep all my documents, the day I got it and backed up my documents my hard drive failed on me and needed a new one, so it was lucky!

Well the server running this site backs itself up every evening while im asleep (about 2am). I keep the last 3 days backups and I also backup to DVD occasionally. I did this the other day.
