A separate Beta Website today was hacked soon after BA rolled out their BetaArchivce V2 site. I am not saying that anyone here has done anything, but it is saddening news. OSBG and the whole account that it was hosted on was hacked today, and the site is unrecoverable. This means that not only has OSBG been lost for a while...
The surprising part was that only Bender's forum was attacked my spambots, and OSBG was lost, whereas a few test forums were left unharmed... (odd)
The forums were deleted, the ftp server destroyed, and the site's index replaced with a RickRoll video (lame), REMOVED AFTER BEING CORRECTED
When I talked to OBrasilo I was given this response:
Quote:
me, mrpijey, and bender, are already investigating it, and will do our best to find the ones responsible for this, and get the osbg back up and running ASAP

I hope that this site can recover from it, because OSBG was designed as a site for rare beta builds, and older builds too, the saddest part was that we were expecting to receive a large sum of builds on "Massive Leakage Week" for builds that have not been previously leaked, or have been poorly circulated, and instead of getting a chance at these now, there may not be another opportunity for non-OSBG people to access these builds (thanks people) we will still get the builds, but they will not be made public in the foreseeable future. These builds include chicago 34, nashville 1167, 1265, memphis 1233, and neptune 5022.
I am also hoping that the person who did this extremely selfish, stupid, ignorant, arrogant, and destructive act, be found out, exposed, and punished in legal ways for what he did ASAP.
Thanks- the users of OSBG

IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION AS TO WHAT HAPPENED, OR WHO DID IT, PLEASE PM BENDER, MR.Pijey, OR MYSELF OR E-MAIL OBRASILO AT obrasilo@gmail.com Thanks!

Pizza-PISSED!

EDIT: IF this thread disappears, it tells alot to us...
EIDT: I was corrected by Jabster...

may I ask why?
This thread should be open to see what other people need to say, if it becomes a flame war, I would not mind having it closed, but as for now, I feel that people should say what they feel. Locking the thread now makes this look like it may have something to do with BA, but I am not going to point fingers, just see what people feel about this thread.
This thread should be treated the same way as the threads about other sites closing, or about other sites or programs having trouble with certain things (IE security flaw threads etc...)
If nothing else, let it remain open for 24 hours and see what happens. That is all I ask.

Pizza-.....

I was bored, and I wasn't posting porn links, I was posting: (OYO)

I don't think this thread is necessary.

I don't think the issue at hand here is how important a form is. I think the issue is someone stole someone's keys and they want a higher official to take over and let them deal with it.

I have nothing against other boards in all honesty, but can you really expect us to help you solve your drama? Someone stole my brother's MySpace password and he didn't go around posting bulletins with other people's user names. He simply contacted MySpace, changed his password, and all was calm.

If I were you, I would contact whoever hosts your FTP, change your passwords, and deal with whoever messed around with your property. We can't solve your problems, but if you would request help, we will help you if you provide us with the right information. I really am not against you in anyways, I just feel that by spreading the issue here, nothing will be solved. I mean, think about it. If someone stole your car, you would go to the police and report it and hope the complaint gets filed and something is done. But they won't always do it! lol. So I would start changing your passwords to more stuff [including email] to prevent anymore internet theft [if I may call it that]. :)

I agree with Troyoda. It serves no purpose to post a plead for help here. The people responsible for OSBG will deal with it and investigate, and those that knows OSBG staff will do what they can, if they want to help. Posting a scream here will not help and it will only create some nasty reactions from some members. We all know what happened in the past and we don't need to repeat it again. BetaArchive doesn't have any official or unoffical ties with OSBG, so we can't help much anyway.
