hey guys,

Christmas is just around the corner, and I want to purchase a decent mp3 player this year.

I found this:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10669731&findingMethod=rr
I was astounded by the price.

Does anyone have one of these? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Well, no I have not used the product, but from looking at the item, the price may think hold on it's an expensive pile of rubbish here.

I'd say go ahead, buy it. If it doesn't work, then you should be able to take it back (I don't know what about returns or whatever, i'm not from the states

You haven't got much to lose I don't think

(Side note, RCA is owned by Thompson Electronics if that helps)

Buy it, then return it if it doesn't work. Walmart doesn't care.

Walmart... is evil. To keep this short, there are no Walmarts in my city because that would put so many places out of business, especially Costco. Also, Walmart has really cheap prices, one reason being that they don't pay their employees health insurance.

Also, I suggest you to compare prices and products from other stores and from online retailers(Newegg) before purchasing from Walmart.

IIRC, Wallmart is the largest corporation in the world.

Please don't make the text smaller, it makes it harder to read and theres no point trying to hide something if you've posted it

after some consideration,

I have decided to go with a 4gb Creative model for the same price.

the main reason for this choice,is because, in my opinion, creative makes a good product.

and its at the walmart not from my house.

yeah that RCA is crap

After the fiasco with purposely crippling their Vista drivers on older cards, Creative have joined Apple on my list of companies that are never going to receive another penny of my money ever again.

Personally I thought that device looked OK for its price

SiS aren't meant to be blockbusting pieces of hardware, they mainly make IGP's and chipsets for the budget end of the computer chart.
