i tried the system restore point and it "errored" , i tried reinstalling wmp11 with the normal microsoft version of wmp11 and i got a "there is a newer version of wmp installed, installation cannot continue" so i opened regedit, found windows media player and changed the version number to 10.000000 (whatever ) and i still get the "newer version" message? and i have checked add/remove proggrams and there isnt a uninstall option, it doesnt really matter because i use vlc 99 percent of the time.

add/remove windows features and windows media player should be one, if not just Google how to unninstal Windows media player it'll take a while.

The main DLL for WMP is (surprisingly enough) wmp.dll in /system32

VG fixed it :D , it turns out that the dll that sets the languge is ???? wmploc.dll , i just downloaded VGs windows media player 12 mod for windows media player 11 , i merged the colors.reg file and nothing changed, then i copied the modified wmploc.dll file into the c;\windows\system32 directory, rebooted and BAM! wmp displays english menues again : Image
